I believe everyone can relate to the quote, “outwardly successful, but inwardly trapped” in some capacity. HENCE, I am so excited for this conversation with 2 Time New York Best-selling author, coach, motivation and Ted X Speaker, Christy Whitman, to the T&T mic! There was so much to unpack with Christy I encourage you to enjoy this convo and then go dig into all the VARSITY-NESS that she has going on several levels, you won’t regret it. Today Christy and I talk about her journey, her breakdown from unhappiness to breakthrough of living a purposeful life- with ease (for the most part:). Christy talks about the mind body connection, the power of our thoughts, listening to that inner voice, and letting go. She is intentional about her every move with her life and her family’s lives. She gives great tips for parents to add mindfulness into their kiddo’s every day and tips for the adults that need to re-connect to themselves too. It’s never too early or too late to lean into your purpose, your mission, and your truth. Whether your seeking quantum success or the desire factor… Christy has you covered! Those are also 2 of her books… she has you covered there too:) Enjoy this conversation, make manifestation your cardio like Christy.
Another awesome T&T Creatives convo coming at you, please welcome DJ Zenas to the mic! DJ Zenas is a Denver native, now Dallas based DJ, producer, songwriter, and recording artists. I was extra excited for this conversation as he is a connect of a connect- my favorites! DJ Zenas is a longtime friend of (sudo T&T co-host) Ashley Knight. We all grew up near each other and went high schools nearby… I was a little before them #botox:) DJ Zenas shares his love for music and how he found his way into the music business as an all-around creative. We talk about the importance of the art and business balance, leading with the heart and giving back, and also the importance of support… especially early on! The music business has changed greatly and social media has opened up some big doors, allowed for further connection easily, and also taught us all that there is a point of too much. I so appreciate DJ Zenas’ heart, mission, and general positive attitude. Being in the music biz is no joke, if you can chase the dream with a smile, you’re gonna be alright. This is a great convo for any aspiring artists, dreamer, philanthropist, or anyone that has said, “I think I can do this better”. Questioning a better way- WE ARE HERE FOR YOU:)
Questioning a better way. Chasing the dream. For the love of music. Letting the career and the passion unfold, in due time. The stock marketing and getting you money right. Covering all bases and wearing all hats. Tequila. Social media and social media detox. The kids, the future, the possibilities.
DJ Zenas is much more than just a DJ, he is a jack of all trades. Aside from spinning at many venues across the nation and the globe, he also produces, writes, and performs all of his own music.
Zenas is originally from Denver, CO. He recently moved to Dallas, TX in 2019 to further pursue his music career after linking up with Jon-John Robinson, a well-established R&B producer (with credits including TLC, Jon B, and more), and collaborating with him on multiple projects.
Since moving to Texas, Zenas has also produced several tracks for The Black Sands Soundtrack (a comic series turned animated series) and has continued working on music of his own. That said, Zenas will be releasing a new song on the first Friday of every month. These releases will highlight his many other talents and shift the conversation towards who he is as an artist as opposed to as a DJ.
It’s episode 100… I cannot believe it! Well, I can a little bit because the second I started podcasting I knew I wanted to do this forever… as imperfect as it started, as much as it will evolve, I knew it showed up right on time. As most important things in your life do:). This is a quick cast with just you and I. I share a story that I heard in elementary school that I have reflected on throughout my life. It’s a story that everyone should hear and keep in their back pocket for a rainy day. We all need reminders on things, this story is one.
I then had to give a nod to the life lessons that I have learned, continue to learn, and have been absolutely highlighted by podcasting! These are also great little love notes for everyone, regardless of where you are in your life- personally or professionally. I started podcasting to serve, I kept podcasting because I loved being of service… to others AND myself. The humans, the lessons, the inspiration, the education, ALL OF IT, I am eternally grateful for. A sincere THANK YOU to every single person that had a hand in helping T&T keep moving. My team (Theon and Fede), my guests, the social media supporters, the apparel rockers, the listeners, the #podfam as a whole, I so appreciate the time, energy and support! Cheers to 100 more!! XO #blessed

Love when the #FITFAM comes through on the T&T mic! Today I welcome longtime fit pro, Lin Hill, to join me and share her journey as a human, athlete, wellness practitioner/professional, and her overall whole-body approach to health and happiness. Lin has a verity of certifications, years of experience on all kinds of athletes and competitors (as well as civilians:), and is currently earning her Masters in Oriental Medicine and a Masters in Acupuncture. Anyone that has ever played sports knows how important it is to maintain your body and along the way you learn the importance of the mind and how it really all connects. We have made major strides as far as “wellness” goes in the last 5 years, people are starting to take change of their own wellbeing and are motivated by high health care costs and even more importantly, just general unhappiness, to take the rains and be more conscious consumers when it comes to their own health. Athletes are lucky to be exposed to some of these forward-thinking wellness modalities like fascial stretching, but luckily things are becoming more mainstream and affordable for every person that just wants to feel well. Sports and competing has brought so many great health tips, tricks, and lifestyle hacks to my life, I am so excited to see more and more people questioning a better way and embracing their own journey with health. It’s a jungle out there to figure out what is right for you, so when you come across someone like Lin, trustworthy and knows a variety of wellness approaches, you keep them in your corner. If you are looking to heal an old injury (or a new one), fine tune your athletic ability, further understand how your mind and body connect, or just want to loosen up, hit up Lin and see how her whole-body approach can help you! Mind, body, soul… always working to keep that balance- #TurmericAndTequila baby!
Mind, body, soul… and spirit! The physical and mental connect. Fascial stretching and all human optimization tricks. Health and wellness, health is wealth. Western and Eastern medicine and medical approaches. Merging of the worlds, humans young and old questing a better way. Starting a business and believing in yourself. Community and asking for help.
20+ years in the service industry and we are going to talk about tips… pro tips & service tricks, life tips, cash tips, lack thereof, and tips for writing/publishing a book! That’s right, I am excited to welcome self-published author and service industry extraordinaire, Tonya Fritch, to the T&T Mic! Tonya has spent years building and growing her skills in her service industry career from hostess to sought after bar tender, she has seen it all. Tonya and I both agree that everyone should be a waiter/waitress at some point in their lives just to gain some human perspective on the service industry. Tonya shares her journey, her humor (it’s needed!), and the crazy, yet appreciated experiences that inspired her book. She shares the human side of the service industry, highlighting the personal interaction that happens at a restaurant or bar and how we often overlook how valued that human interaction should be… that might be the only time you talk or engage with a real live human that entire day (or longer)! Tonya escorts us on her service adventures with quick wit and grounding laughs- she also shares the 411 on how to self-publish! This is an awesome cast for everyone… if you want to wrote a book, eat out, hit bars, or are in the service industry there are relatable messages in this conversation and you will likely change your perspective and your mindset the next time you head out for a meal or a night out! (Pro Tip: be nice and leave a good tip- you’ll be glad you did)
Just the tip. Breakdowns and breakthroughs. Restaurants, bars, humans. Bodily fluids. The good, the bad, the great. Showing up and being the best person you can be, even when others aren’t doing the same. Self-publishing books. Challenging status quo, chasing your dream career. Work life balance. Turmeric & Tequila!
Absolutely LOVING these conversations with CREATIVES (and I hope you are too)! I am so excited to welcome award-winning poet, In-Q, to the T&T Mic! In-Q is an award-winning poet (once again:), a multi-platinum song writer, best-selling author, AND he was named to Oprah’s SuperSoul 100 list of the world’s most influential thought leaders. They say it’s not what you say, but how you say it… well In-Q is here to prove that it’s both. We have an enlightening conversation about his creative journey, working it out within, vulnerability, hip hop, poetry, entrepreneurism, life, and of course, the spoken word. This is one of my most favorite conversations thus far- deep thought sprinkled with quick humor- the perfect balance of head and heart… aka Turmeric & Tequila. Aren’t we all seeking that? Art = unity. Stay to the end of the convo where In-Q lays down one of his poems and hit us with the truth: a cocktail of fresh air, enlightenment, and a dash of realistic optimism. Enjoy, cheers.
In question. Questioning a better way. Creativity and the creative process. The grind and chasing the dream. Vulnerability and Will Smith. Parents not understating kids, and the process to becoming a parent? Generational narrative, the system, and balance. Awareness, art, constant growth. The Next generation.
I am so excited to announce that we are launching a whole new series at Turmeric & Tequila, T&T Creatives. We believe that we are born to create, some people just pursue it further than others:) Creators are the ones helping build, shape, and define the world around us. Music, art, food, and anything else you create, are universal languages AND now is the time for unity. The T&T Open Mic Series are designed to bring all voices to the mic to share personal experiences around equality and the T&T Creatives Series are designed to highlight and inspire unifying points where we can connect and feel equal in creative space. You can speak the same language as someone and look at a photo differently AND you can speak a different language as someone and look at a photo the same. We want to have the hard convos (T&T Open Mics) and then provide opportunities to connect (T&T Creatives)!
I am so excited to welcome Elliot Anderson to the T&T Mic, our very first T&T Creative Series guest! Elliot is an audio master, audio engineer, composer, and all-around music hustler. He is kicking off his career in the music biz and I couldn’t wait to hear how the journey was going. I dabbled in the music industry post college (LOVE music), so I was extra excited to see where the biz is all these years later. Elliot shares his experience thus far, how he balances passion + business, and all the details in-between. This is an awesome cast for anyone in the industry or any entrepreneur looking to get into a competitive market… especially when your product is you! These are bold moves to make, but so worthwhile if it’s in your heart- chase it.
The music business. The hustle. The dream. Cardio. Breakdown, breakthrough. How to start a business, aka entrepreneurship. Balancing business and passion. Believing in yourself and just starting. Missy Elliot & Timbaland (in my mind). Doing what you’re supposed to and then doing what you want to do. Growing up/adulting. Upcoming parties.
PARMAJAWN (Elliot Anderson): DJ, producer, and recording engineer based out of Denver, CO. He has been steadily producing and performing his own music for 10 years and regularly works with vocalists and rappers as an engineer and as a producer. His styles range all over the board, but he typically sticks to housey grooves and hip-hop heaters with huge synth soundscapes and complex rhythmic textures.
We have an incredible journey to share with you today! I welcome Liz Cirelli to the T&T mic to share her story of tragedy to triumph, specifically around a traumatic brain injury and having to take things into her own hands to question a better way. Liz graduated college from Colorado State and found herself on the traditional path to what she thought would lead her to complete fulfillment. Liz had a content life, but she knew a spark was missing- any plans that she did have were interrupted by a TBI (traumatic brain injury) that rocked her world. After seeing countless doctors and not being happy with the diagnosis she took over her recovery and started doing her own research. She not only avoided a life of prescriptions and traditional treatments, but she also found her true path to her extraordinary life purpose. Liz is a best-selling author, physiotherapists, life coach, yoga teacher, and Master Level Reiki Practitioner amongst many other things… bottom line Liz’s extraordinary life purpose, to help people. I have no doubt that this conversation will help and inspire and anyone in the thick of things to take charge and question a better way. Thank you for the time and energy, Liz! Your story is truly extraordinary and I know you are just getting started:)
Questioning a better way. A road to recovery. Western and Eastern medicine. Balance. TBI’s. Community, family, and friends. Self-care and helping others. Road to redemption. Meditation, mediation, and being still. Making moves and realizing all things are on time. Learning to surrender. Faith.
Liz is an entrepreneur and owns and operates Elizabeth Cirelli Holistic Services. She is a Life Coach, Certified Yoga Teacher, Master Level Reiki Practitioner, Meditation Teacher, Co-Facilitator/Group Leader and International Best-Selling Author. Before shifting to more holistic practices, she spent 18 years in the mental health field as a Psychotherapist. Her specialties include spiritual growth, anxiety, depression, and trauma.
I am SO EXCITED to share this conversation with the world… not only is “generational narrative” usually overlooked or not discussed at all, today I get to welcome 3 varsity humans to the T&T mic that are very similar AND very different from myself… and two of them are blood related to boot! So, we have multiple viewpoints represented on one not-so-talked-about-topic, my favorite conversations! Myself, Ashley Knight (welcome back, again:), Eric Mitchell (Ashley’s Uncle), and Reggie Adam’s (longtime family friend to both Ashley and Eric), run through the formal definition of generational narrative, our own definitions, and how it correlates in our current worlds. Why do we even need to care about generational narrative?… Tune in, we break it down!
We each share our experience with the importance of representation and how it directly coincides with generational narrative. We also discuss how we all work to consciously heighten the awareness and conversation around generational narrative, true self-awareness, and continued self-discovery. Generational narrative can be positive or negative, but the real value is in the awareness of what is authentic to you alongside those narratives, allowing each of us to build our own realities aka updated and progressive generational narratives inviting dialogue, conversation, and unity… cheers world, let’s open our hearts and minds to a little graceful disruption and authentic truths!
Generational narrative. The importance of representation. Questioning a better way. Core values and authenticity. Entrepreneurship. Tradition and evolution. Mindset and conscious learning. Similarities and differences. White privilege. The next generation. Golf, modeling, and communication… aka #cardio .

This is one of the FEW PART Twos’! I am so excited to welcome back Andrew Kap, best-selling author of, The Last Law of Attraction Book You’ll Ever Need To Read, to the T&T mic! If you have been following the T&T podcast or any of my social media, you know 2021 has been all about focus and dialing in. I am on day 102 of the morning routing (mediation, affirmation, reading, writing etc… aka waking up with intention in a nut shell). Andrew’s book, The Last Law Of Attraction Book has been instrumental not only in my morning routine, but also in my efforts to maintain a gracious mindset, living a life of gratitude… as much as possible #GracefulDisruption . His book is packed with easy ways to dial into the law of attraction and consciously create the life you want. I was pumped about our initial convo and this one was even better because I have now read the book and can first hand testify that it works! If you are intentional and committed, anything is possible. Andrew gives us deeper insight on LOA, some pro tips, and shares what he does every day no matter what, to maintain his LOA on HIGH VIBES. Since we have spoken last (about 6 months about) he has sold 50,000 copies of his book and it’s moving fast. Yes, this stuff really works. Lean in and see for yourself, you’ll be happy you did.
Law of Attraction. Living a life of gratitude. Dreaming big, loving yourself with grace, and questioning a better way. Methods, tips, tricks, to get your hopes and dreams into your conscious world. Ego vs. conscious vs. subconscious. Commitment, mindset, trust, faith, and other pro tools required to make the vision a reality. Meditation and vibration.
BONUS: The Competitor’s Method:
That’s right, I actually came up with my own method of gratitude practice… by mistake, we actually I was being sarcastic ( #onbrand ) and the Competitor’s Method was born. One day during CrossFit class, we were lifting heavy mid workout and I was starting to question if I was going to be able to make any more of the heavy lifts in the metcon. After completing one of the lifts, I sarcastically said, “thank you universe” half-jokingly half serious… and it hit me, I should be doing this on the regular. Check out this clip for the full explanation and me actually doing it:). It’s a super simple practice that has made a world of difference! I invite you to try it… we are all competitors, competing with ourselves!
Andrew Kap holds one goal above all others through his various projects: Genuine and Sustainable Impact. He often focuses on topics that many find overwhelming, and he then condenses them into actionable, more consumable content. His latest offering, “The Last Law of Attraction Book You’ll Ever Need To Read” offers readers a never-before-seen understanding of then topic — that no other “LOA” book has ever been able to do — by going the extra mile of finally addressing WHY people who get excited about trying it still can’t manage to get in the habit of using these methods for just five minutes a day. The book has enjoyed continued success, including hundreds of 5-star rave reviews, #1 Best Seller status in multiple categories on Amazon, and a growing YouTube channel devoted to it. Andrew is currently based in New York, where he publishes new content daily.
